Email vs. Postal Service
The
postal service has been around for a long time and is still used to this day
because of how effective it is. With the holiday seasons coming up everyone
around the world will be using it for getting gifts and sending letters to
their loved ones. A letter in the mail is more personal to someone then getting
an email, it shows that someone took the time to get a card and wrote something
meaningful in it. Everyone can agree that when they were younger they loved
getting mail. For most of us it was a card for our birthdays or the holidays
and it was always from the grandparents, and money was always in the cards.
With the world changing all around every day and technology being the number
one subject that everyone has got their eyes on. Using an email now days is one
of the fastest and easiest way to send someone a letter. People don’t have to
wait a week to get a letter in the mail, the message arrives on the other side
in seconds. Its easy to attach a file or a picture to the email, weather it be
something for work or just sharing the adventures you have been on to a loved
one through pictures.
Now
days everyone has gone away from sending a letter in the mail and use email
because of it convenience. There is always pros and cons to everything, with
the postal service its cost, weather can affect the time in which the letter
arrives, or just the fact that the letter gets lost in the vast pool of written
messages. With email the computer could break down or the internet isn’t functioning
or just as simple as the email server not up and running. We as a society have
been moving away from being personal and moving towards technology and
that is the only way we think we can
communicate these days. Sometimes its just nice to receive a written message
form someone it makes it all the more special and meaningful because someone
put the time into getting everything done that goes into sending a letter in
the mail. Its rare to receive a letter in the mail, that’s something I believe
needs to make a comeback.
