HTML & More
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) was developed
by Tim Breners-Lee in 1990. HTML is a code that is used to create the skelton
of a webpage, it insures the formating of the text and images are displayed on
the internet browser as they are intended to look. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
is the program that pairs up with HTML to make it more apealing to the viewer
of the website. Without HTML a browser would not be able to display the
information or images. As in a house a foundation is needed in order to build a
house, HTML is the foundation that is needed in order to properly build a
website. The creation of HTML and CSS paved the way for the innovation
that is what makes up the world wide web.
The knowledge of HTML and CSS alone will get
you far in modern day building and maintaining a website however more skills
are required to make your site an exceptional one. Programs such as Wix and
Squarespace have marketed the web developing process and made it more
reachable to an audience that has no prior experience with using HTML and CSS. The need for web
developers to build sites that are user friendly and easy to navigate through
your site is necessary. An understanding of layout and publication design will
aid you in creating vividly appealing and consumable site content. Having
proper design skills along with the tools such as HTML and CSS will allow you
to be exceptional in the web design and developing field.
